It’s been a hot minute since I’ve thrown some words on the screen about music, but this week I’ve been jamming out to Stephen, an artist based here in Los Angeles, that you’re going to want to know.
I originally noticed Stephen when listening to my weekly Discover playlist on Spotify, his cover of Adele‘s “Hello” came on and totally breathed some new life into the hit. From here I of course went down the Spotify music-hole (similar to an Insta-hole, where you loose yourself deep in a list of recommendations) and found more of Stephens jamz.
He reminds me of BØRNS, who I LOVE, but Stephen has more of an unpolished, rough feel to his music. The production value is great, they just found a way to infuse more grit into the tracks, creating a different experience, less lofty than that of BØRNS.

After “Hello”, I discovered Stephen’s track “Line It Up” and at this point I knew I was feeling this guys vibes. Listen below and tell me you don’t want to end up making some bad decisions with it playing in the background.
His new album is out now and lucky for you, it’s on Soundcloud, iTunes, Spotify, & pretty much anywhere else you buy your music online. Listen to the album below and let me know what your favorite track in the comments below.
