The multi-platinum selling artist Katy Perry’s upcoming third studio album Prism, leaked in full today. Yeah the deluxe version made its way on the net.
Now Beats4LA posted about the album yesterday and said with the 90 second previews I wasn’t excited, didn’t feel it, and had to wait for the full album to truly judge.
Well… I LOVE IT! I don’t know why, but after listening to the album all the way through, I have fallen for it.

Here is my breakdown of the album, track by track. I have only listened a few times over so this is a quick recap. Now I made sure to mention any tracks that I got reminded of when listening to this album. Not meant as insult, in most the cases. Overall it’s a great album and you’re gonna enjoy it.

Prism Track by Track Breakdown
“Roar” | You know this track by now and if you don’t just stop. We love it and glad Katy (Sara, JK) has had such great success from it.
“Legendary Lovers” | This track is giving a middle eastern inspired vibe to start then delivers anthemic KP like we love.
“Birthday” | Throw back feel and works for Katy way more than some of her other tracks on this album. A favorite.
“Walking On Air” | Not a fan of this track. A dance throwback that just failed to deliver.
“Unconditionally” | A beautiful track and to be expected since from Dr. Luke.
“Dark Horse” (feat. Juicy J) | Like the different beat and attempt at a new sound. Not sure I am obsessed with it.
“This Is How We Do” | A fun and funky chill song. Like this for sure.
“International Smile” | The track is keeping on the lines and feel of Katy’s new sound. Reminds me of a Police track, not sure which one.
“Ghost” | Slowing it down for an 80s love song moment.
“Love Me” | Great track but nothing life changing.
“This Moment” | Gives off a Robyn vibe like no other. “Dancing on My Own” much?!
“Double Rainbow” | A pretty track but also reminds us of Betty Who’s “High Society“, which I prefer more than Katy’s track.
“By the Grace of God” | Nice and empowering track from KP. Nice work babe.
Deluxe Version
“Spiritual” | Prob one of my top 3 tracks from the album. Gotta listen.
“It Takes Two” | The lyrics of this track make me LOL. But love the song. Can’t help but the hook is like OneRepublic’s “Something I Need“
“Choose Your Battles” | Love this track. Diplo’s “Set It Off” comes blaring through.
Now don’t hate me because I didn’t rave about every track. It’s a great album, but overall isn’t the sound I want from Katy. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a good sound and this album will for sure do really well.
Thoughts?
