Katy Perry takes the mic tonight during MTV Video Music Awards (August 25), as Katy is the closing performance, the show will shift focus from inside the event’s arena—Brooklyn’s Barclays Center—to her performance’s secret “iconic location” in New York City.
Pepsi, a major sponsor for the Viacom event, has developed a partnership with Katy that includes a social-media push of the event. Pepsi, Katy and MTV will tell people to use the hashtag #Katynow to unlock clues about her upcoming album, Prism, set to drop on October 22.

“Dark Horse”and “Walking On Air” from the new album are the two tracks fans can vote for release by tweeting the song title along with #KatyNow.
The winning song will be revealed on MTV right before Katy’s VMA performance and then become available as her next single on September 17.
Oh yeah, during the VMAs, Perry will sing her first single from the album, “Roar“.
